What this role involves

Description

You’ve probably already heard about Ghent’s buzzing tech scene, now’s your chance to be part of it! Ready to make an impact as our first Controller in a fast-scaling SaaS company, where you’ll further professionalise our financial reporting and structure?

We’re looking for a Controller to own reporting, drive process improvements, and architect the financial foundations that inform business choices in our unique SaaS + hardware environment.

Logistics? Maybe not what you dreamed of as a kid. But building a fast-growing international SaaS scale-up that’s transforming how some of the world’s largest industrial companies operate? That’s a different story.

Peripass is a tech company at heart. We build software that digitises and automates complex logistics environments for companies like Bridgestone, Alpro and Arcelor Mittal. These companies have hundreds of trucks (un)loading every month, and our SaaS platform helps them orchestrate that whole process. Peripass is a high-impact SaaS platform used in international enterprise environments.

Ready to be part of the next steps of Peripass? Here are your three core responsibilities:

You own and continuously improve the reporting and controlling flow

  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management reporting

  • Review actuals together with Accounting to ensure results are complete, reliable, and correctly structured

  • Prepare clear variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods

  • Create and maintain ad hoc reports based on business needs

  • Develop new reporting views and dashboards as the company evolves

  • Own and improve the Power BI reporting environment

  • Ensure reporting is clear, actionable, and useful for business planning and decision-making

You strengthen the company structure through strong financial and business insights

  • Follow up on reporting needs and translate them into the right company structure, including cost centers, cost types, and reporting dimensions

  • Align with Accounting to ensure correct, simple, and efficient usage of financial structures

  • Help judge when adjustments are needed to improve transparency, accuracy, scalability, and control

  • Provide stakeholders with meaningful insights into costs, performance, margins, and business drivers

  • Help build visibility on our SaaS + hardware model, including recurring revenue, one-off revenue, gross margin, and customer or segment performance where relevant

  • Act as a finance business partner to colleagues across the company, helping them understand their numbers and make better-informed decisions

  • Support the CFO with insights and reporting for management, board, and strategic finance discussions

You own the budget process and drive efficiency through tools and automation

  • Own the budget process twice a year, including tools, content, coordination, and reporting

  • Support rolling forecasts and scenario planning as the company grows and priorities evolve

  • Work closely with colleagues to identify how tasks can be made more productive

  • Propose improvements that increase efficiency, visibility, automation, and data quality

  • Help the business adopt smarter ways of working through AI, BI tools, and process improvements

You will report directly to the CFO (Kristof De Ceuckelaere) and work closely with Finance, Accounting, and business stakeholders across the company.

What we offer:

  • Build financial structure in a scaling company: you’ll help architect the reporting and financial foundations as Peripass grows, since you will be the first controller. You’ll work on real projects like integrating new products and initiatives into our financial structure and reporting frameworks.

  • Work in a complex, interesting sector: the SaaS + hardware combination creates unique needs and opportunities.

  • A great bunch of colleagues who are all making the success story of Peripass, day after day, milestone after milestone, and joke after joke.

  • A solid salary package with great benefits.

  • Flexible working hours with a work-from-home policy.

Requirements

Come on, blow us away with your credentials! đź’Ą

Proof of work

The team

Payward’s Risk & Audit function operates as an Integrated Assurance organization, bringing together Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management under a unified risk oversight strategy. The function spans SOX Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, and Internal Audit across multiple regulated entities and jurisdictions. The team partners with co-sourced providers, maintains direct reporting lines to the Global and Local Audit Committee Chairs, and is building a technology-forward assurance capability at the forefront of crypto and financial innovation.

This role sits within Internal Audit and will lead the independent testing of business process SOX controls. You will assess whether controls over revenue, financial close, and treasury are designed and operating effectively, providing the assurance that the Audit Committee, external auditors, and regulators rely on.

The opportunity

You will lead Internal Audit’s business process SOX controls testing program, building the testing approach, workpapers, and institutional knowledge from the ground up. This is a hands-on role with real program ownership and you’ll be doing it at a crypto exchange — where revenue includes digital asset trading, staking, and custody fees, where treasury manages both fiat and crypto assets, and the financial reporting landscape is evolving in real time. If you want a SOX role where the accounting is interesting and the controls are consequential, this is it.

Responsibilities span the following areas:

SOX business process controls testing

  • Lead the execution of independent controls testing across business process areas including revenue, financial close, and treasury.

  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls, document testing procedures and results, and ensure workpapers meet Internal Audit and external auditor quality standards.

  • Validate the completeness and accuracy of Information Used in Controls (IUC) and Information Produced by the Entity (IPE), ensuring the reliability of data underpinning control performance.

  • Build and maintain testing programs, templates, and workpapers that create a repeatable, scalable foundation for business process SOX testing.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI-enabled workflows and data analytics to improve testing coverage and efficiency.

Remediation validation & issue management

  • Independently validate the remediation of open SOX findings, including material weaknesses and significant deficiencies, across business process control areas.

  • Evaluate control deficiencies by performing root cause analysis and assessing the severity and pervasiveness of exceptions to inform deficiency classification.

  • Assess whether management’s remediation actions are adequately designed and operating effectively before closing findings.

  • Track remediation progress, escalate delays or gaps, and report status to Internal Audit leadership and the Audit Committee as required.

  • Coordinate with the SOX Compliance team to ensure alignment on remediation expectations, timelines, and evidence requirements.

Stakeholder engagement & reporting

  • Serve as a trusted Internal Audit point of contact for business process control owners across Finance, Accounting, and Treasury.

  • Contribute to Internal Audit reporting to the Audit Committee, external auditor, and senior leadership on business process SOX testing coverage, findings, and remediation status.

  • Partner with the IT SOX tester and co-sourced resources to ensure coordinated testing coverage across the full SOX program.

Skills you should HODL

  • 8+ years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or SOX compliance, with significant exposure to business process controls testing.

  • CPA or ACCA certification required.

  • Experience in crypto, fintech, payments, or digital asset accounting — including revenue recognition for trading, staking, or custody services.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance requirements, COSO framework, and PCAOB auditing standards as they apply to business process controls.

  • Hands-on experience testing controls across revenue, financial close, treasury, or other core financial reporting processes.

  • Experience operating across multi-entity structures or multiple jurisdictions.

  • Effective communicator who can translate audit findings and control observations for control owners, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.

Nice to haves

  • Familiarity with audit management platforms such as AuditBoard or Workiva.

  • Exposure to global regulatory environments and multi-entity control structures.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted audit tools and willingness to adopt emerging technologies.

Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.

We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives. We hire strictly based on merit, meaning we seek out the candidates with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills considered the most suitable for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don’t fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you’re passionate or knowledgable about crypto!

We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments are designed to evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Assessment results are considered alongside other relevant information, such as experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision.

As an equal opportunity employer, we don’t tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws.

Job Description

The Financial Modeling and Automation (FM&A) team sits at the crossroads of Finance and Technology: building the tools, models, and pipelines that power EcoVadis’ financial planning and reporting. We are looking for a Senior Associate who combines a solid foundation in finance with a continuous learning mindset and an interest in evolving their technical skill set.

You will be joining a team that works hands-on with Databricks, Pigment, and Azure. You should be comfortable with data, eager to develop your technical skills quickly, and able to communicate effectively and build strong collaborative relationships across both Finance and Engineering teams.

AI & What’s Ahead? We already use Claude and Copilot daily for SQL generation and code acceleration. And we expect you to confidently leverage these tools as part of your daily workflow from an early stage. Judgment, business translation, and stakeholder decisions stay human, but AI handles the rest. As for growth, the path is yours to shape - whether that’s senior engineering, platform ownership, or building AI Agents into financial workflows.

Responsibilities

Finance Data & Databricks

  • Support the development and maintenance of finance-domain data pipelines and models in Databricks.
  • Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries; grow your Python skills over time.
  • Contribute to the Pigment ↔ Databricks integration as you build familiarity with both platforms.
  • Gradually take on greater ownership of the finance data layer as experience grows.

Financial Tools & Reporting

  • Build, maintain, and improve financial applications and models in Pigment.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close process tooling.
  • Automate manual reporting workflows.
  • Develop automations across all EcoVadis teams (e.g. in HR, Accounting, Frontline, etc.).

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Finance functions, Frontline teams (Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, etc.), Business Intelligence, and Data Engineering on shared data needs to act as a bridge between different stakeholders and technical teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, controlling, or a data-adjacent role in a finance environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks - comfortable running notebooks, writing SQL, and understanding data workflows.
  • Strong SQL skills; Python proficiency is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools in finance or data workflows; able to prompt, evaluate, and integrate LLM-based solutions; exposure to building or prototyping AI Agents is a plus.
  • Good understanding of financial processes: budgeting, forecasting, month-end close.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage tasks independently from inception to completion.
  • Strong communication skills; business-level English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure basics (storage, access, ADF) with the willingness to expand the knowledge to expert level.
  • Analytical approach / attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Pigment, Anaplan, or a similar FP&A platform.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or another BI tool.

Additional Information

  • Applicants must be eligible to work and live in Poland
  • Hybrid in Warsaw (4 days per month in the office)
  • Contract of Employment
  • The salary range will be shared following the skills assessment stage of this recruitment process

In return for your expertise, we offer:

  • Support with all the necessary office and IT equipment
  • Flexible working hours
  • Wellness allowance for mental and physical wellbeing
  • Access to professional mental health support
  • Referral bonus policy
  • Learning and development
  • Sustainability events and community involvement
  • Peer recognition program
  • Employee-led resource groups
  • Optional (fully covered or co-financed) health care and life insurance
  • Multisport card
  • Multikafeteria
  • Lunch card
  • Hybrid work organization
  • Remote work from abroad policy
  • Internet and Electricity bill allowance
  • Additional day for community service when volunteering

Our hiring team looks forward to reviewing your CV, in English, with a guaranteed response to every application. A new job with purpose awaits you!

Don’t meet all criteria? Please apply anyway. We welcome diverse candidates and want to assess your skills and potential contribution to EcoVadis, regardless of your background.

Can the hiring process be adjusted to suit my needs? Yes. We want all candidates, including people with disabilities, people with long-term health conditions, and neurodiverse applicants, to feel confident demonstrating their potential. If you require adjustments, such as interview questions in advance, please inform the hiring team.

Our team’s strength comes from everyone’s uniqueness and is founded upon mutual respect. EcoVadis commits to equity, inclusion and reducing bias in our hiring processes. EcoVadis does not accept any form of discrimination based on characteristics such as color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, citizenship, religion, beliefs, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, disability, parental status, or any other protected characteristic that makes you unique. Finance Controller at PadSplit

Controller owns the full accounting function including AP, revenue recognition, internal controls, tax compliance, and treasury operations for a fast-growing company.

Senior Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

The Role We Need

PadSplit is hiring a Controller to own the full accounting function at a pivotal moment in our growth. This is not a steady-state maintenance role. You’ll be formalizing systems, designing controls, managing a complex compliance calendar, and serving as the internal expert on everything from revenue recognition to treasury and audit.

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll work closely with operators, legal, and external partners to ensure financial rigor while helping the business scale responsibly. This is a highly visible role with significant ownership and the opportunity to build processes, improve controls, and strengthen the financial foundation of a fast-growing, mission-driven company.

If you thrive on owning things end-to-end, care deeply about getting the numbers right, and enjoy balancing strategic thinking with operational execution, this role is for you.

The Person We Are Looking For

We’re looking for a highly analytical, detail-oriented accounting leader who thrives in environments where systems are still being built and processes are continuously improving. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves, solving complex problems, and creating structure in fast-moving environments.

You are someone who takes pride in accuracy, asks thoughtful questions, and naturally looks for risk, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve. You’re equally comfortable diving into the details of reconciliations and controls as you are partnering cross-functionally to support business decisions.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing Day-To-Day:

  • Accounting Operations: Own the accounting function, including accounts payable processes, vendor onboarding and diligence, prepaid expenses, vendor advances, corporate card programs, reconciliations, and revenue recognition in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Internal Controls: Build and maintain PadSplit’s internal control environment, including manager-level reviews of payroll, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and systems access governance. Manage SaaS license oversight to reduce redundancy and improve cost efficiency.
  • Tax & Workforce Compliance: Coordinate income tax compliance with external partners and own year-end reporting processes, including Employee W-2s, Contractor 1099s, and Host 1099s across PadSplit’s marketplace.
  • Treasury & Funding Compliance: Manage treasury operations, including Positive Pay, cash management, covenant tracking, and compliance reporting for financing arrangements.
  • Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Serve as the internal lead for the annual financial audit, workers’ compensation audit, SAFE/convertible note and 409A valuations, and annual investor confirmations.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, and external partners to improve systems, strengthen controls, and support responsible business growth.

Here’s What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

  • Accounting Expertise: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong foundation in audit—either as an auditor or as the internal owner of the audit process. CPA required.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in US GAAP, including hands-on experience with revenue recognition, financial statement preparation, and accounting controls.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a natural instinct for identifying risk, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ownership Mentality: Ability to independently own complex accounting processes end-to-end while balancing competing priorities.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Comfortable partnering cross-functionally and communicating clearly with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Bonus Experience (Unicorn Signals): Experience writing basic SQL queries, leading large-scale 1099 programs, serving as the primary owner of an annual financial audit, or working in real estate, startups, and/or insurance environments.

Interview Process

  • Your application will be reviewed for possible next steps by the Hiring Manager.
  • If you meet eligibility requirements, the next step would be a phone screen with a member of the PeopleOps team for about thirty (30) minutes.
  • If warranted, the next steps would be a video interview with our Chief Financial Officer for forty-five (45) minutes.
  • If warranted, the net step would be a video panel interview with key stakeholders at PadSplit for one (1) hour. The panel interview will require a candidate to work on a content assessment where you will showcase your relative skills to the panel for discussion.
  • If warranted, the final step would be an in-person meet-up with the Chief Financial Officer in the Houston area.
  • If warranted, then we move to offer!

$105,000 - $120,000 a year

Compensation is based on the role’s scope, national market benchmarks, the person’s expertise and experience, and the impact of their contributions to our business goals. In addition to base salary, there is a company wide bonus based on the successful achievement of growth targets.

Notice to Applicants:

PadSplit participates in E-Verify. All new employees are required to complete an I-9 form and be authorized to work in the United States. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the E-Verify process.

PadSplit is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.

Finance Senior Accountant at GR0

Senior Accountant manages order-to-cash and bill-pay cycles, month-end/year-end closes, GL coding, P&L analysis, and implements AI automation to streamline accounting operations at a growth-stage marketing agency.

Senior Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re GR0, one of the most awarded, fastest-growing digital marketing agencies in the country. We’ve generated over $1B for DTC brands, managed $500M+ in ad spend, and served 1,200+ clients since 2020  and we’re not slowing down. We are on the forefront of AI and expanding by the minute with new service lines, new ventures, and new acquisitions. Growth like that runs on a Finance function that is precise, scalable, and trusted  and this role is the foundation it’s built on.

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who is as comfortable in QuickBooks as they are exploring what AI can do for finance. You’ll own the order-to-cash and bill-pay cycles, P&Ls, and GL coding end-to-end, partnering directly with Finance leadership as we scale. If you want to build best-in-class accounting infrastructure at a top marketing agency on the cutting edge of AI, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage the order-to-cash lifecycle, overseeing automated invoicing, reviewing specialized invoicing, and managing AR, the collections process, and DSO.
  • Lead the full month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, GL and balance sheet reconciliations with supporting schedules, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate transaction classification and coding.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly P&Ls by department, flagging variances and trends for Finance leadership.
  • Manage our offshore accounting team with the goal of transitioning all accounting operations in-house, owning the handoff end-to-end.
  • Partner with Finance leadership on forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Build and implement AI-driven automation to reduce manual work and improve accuracy as the business scales.
  • Own accounts payable and vendor bill pay in Ramp, leveraging its native AI to keep expenses coded to the right department and reconciled on time.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to design and document accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures, keeping records audit-ready and GAAP-compliant.

HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS:

  • Books closed, coded, and reconciled within 3-4 business days of month-end close.
  • 98%+ invoice accuracy rate with zero material coding errors monthly.
  • DSO maintained at or below company target through proactive AR management.
  • Zero unresolved reconciliation variances older than 30 days.
  • At least one meaningful AI-driven improvement per quarter that reduces manual effort or improves accuracy.
  • Measurable, QoQ progress transitioning the offshore operations in-house.
  • Steadily declining corrections required from Finance leadership as you take ownership of bookkeeping.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a professional services, agency, or high-growth startup environment.
  • 1+ years of order-to-cash or billing experience, including invoicing, AR, and DSO management at volume.
  • Experience managing onshore and offshore teams across multiple workstreams.
  • Command of full-cycle accounting, including GL coding, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Hands-on QuickBooks Online proficiency, ready to dive in on day one.
  • Strong Excel skills; you build reconciliations, trackers, and models without guidance.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to automate accounting or billing work you don’t just follow the space, you apply it.
  • Experience with Ramp or a similar spend-management platform.
  • A clear communicator who works cross-functionally with Account Management, Operations, and clients on billing matters, often remotely.
  • A meticulous eye, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines without dropping the ball.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You hold yourself to a high standard of accuracy, you produce numbers leadership can trust without rechecking them.
  • You own processes end-to-end and follow up without being asked, staying accountable without prompting.

  • You thrive in a fast-moving, often remote environment and adapt quickly when priorities shift.
  • You’re driven to grow, and you see this role for what it is: a path toward FP&A and strategic finance as GR0 expands.

Hiring Process:
